Greenery Nepal

An environmental awareness campaign in all regions of Nepal.

The earth raises and nourishes human beings and endows the rights of survival equally to all the beings. It does not harm any beings nor does she discriminate them. The more we exploit her, the more she gives us. However, we have not been able to justifiably manage the natural resources for its resources, it gives us. There is a high possibility that the nature’s continues exploitation will cause imbalance and can evoke a question of her existence.  It is essential that the general public must have an awareness and knowledge regarding this cause. Therefore, Melancholy campaign has been established.

Project Outline

  • On 19th May 2016, an Environmental Awareness song Melancholy (33:49) was recorded by 365 Nepali Artists in Radio Nepal, Singh Durbar, Kathmandu, was inaugurated by Hon. Rt. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
  • This song was organized to attempt in the esteemed Guinness World Records and has been recorded in 1st February 2018, an entitled “Most vocal solos in a song recording”.
  • The prestige of the campaign has been increased by the presence of the respected veteran artists who have devoted their life for music along with National Poet Madhab Ghimire (97), is written, music composed and directed by Environmentalist Nipesh DHAKA
  • The environmental documentary “Melancholy” (35 minutes) along with the song was visualized more than 65 districts of Nepal. This documentary gives the message about the conservation and protection of the Natural Resources along with Himalayan ad Chure Terai biodiversity. This documentary evokes a question on how human greed is affecting our nature and create global warming and Climate Change.
  • This song and documentary was officially released by Honorable Rt. President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on 2nd September, 2017 in Army Officer’s Club, Sundhara Kathmandu.
  • The Melancholy awareness campaign was shown more than 50 schools and colleges of Kathmandu and Lalitpur in 2074 BS. Now, it is continued in many schools and colleges of Nepal, many international conferences, events and international film festivals.

Target People: School Children’s (Grade 6 to 10) & College Students (+2, Bachelor Level)

Theme of Documentary: 

The environmental documentary “Melancholy” was visualized in more than 65 districts of Nepal since last four years.  This documentary has been screen showed more than 500 schools and colleges of Nepal and will be continued to all provinces of Nepal, international conferences, events and international film festivals.

Goal and Objectives

The Melancholy song and documentary addresses the following objectives:

  1. To aware every Nepali about the natural resource management.
  2. To aware the protection and conservation of Himalayan biodiversity and Chure Terai region.
  3. To conserve watershed area, wetland and diverse ecological regions.
  4.  To promote Nepali art and culture through music.
